Faculty Time Threshold

This article provides an overview of faculty time thresholds as outlined in the APM-025 policy, which governs the allowable time for outside professional activities.

• Academic-year faculty: 312 hours (39 days)
• Fiscal-year faculty: 384 (48 days)

Please note that actual time thresholds may be lower than the policy maximum, as each campus and department can set their own limits based on specific guidelines.

Time Threshold Copied to next Fiscal Year

When you advance to the next fiscal year for the first time, the system will automatically carry over your current time threshold. You will see a message confirming this action. Your time threshold may later be adjusted by your campus UC OATS administrator when updated faculty data is uploaded into the system.
